About My Guest:

My guest for this episode is Amy Joy Smith, NP. Amy Joy Smith is a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Functional Medicine in Northern California. Amy is a renowned pioneer on the PANDAS front and also the mother of an amazing child with PANDAS. She is a dedicated PANDAS awareness advocate. Amy serves on the PANDASNetwork.org Board of Directors. Amy has practiced functional and nutritional medicine since the early 1980s and has studied with a number of pioneers in the field. She attended Syracuse University School of Nursing where she received her BSN in Maternal-Child Nursing, and all of her acute care and hospital experience is in pediatrics. She was a Fellow in the World Health Organization's renowned Adolescent Health Training Program in the University of Minnesota Medical School, and in addition to being a Nurse Practitioner, has a Master's Degree in Adolescent Health with a focus on Youth Development and Community Health, from the University of Minnesota. She was featured in the recent documentary “My Kid Is Not Crazy” which is a powerful film exploring the impact PANDAS and PANS has on the lives of those it affects.
